While Pine Grosbeaks can be found in the Boreal forests near Churchill during summer, they migrate further south towards Winnipeg and the northern tier of states in the US for winter. Largest of the “winter finches”, they’re strongly territorial on their breeding grounds. Interestingly, they form large feeding flocks during the winter months.
